Days Gone

MORRIS 1000 TRAVELLER

Don't you think it odd, that just about the best selling car in the world through the Fifties, Sixties and into the Seventies never made it into the Dinky or the Corgi range? Nowhere is there a Morris Minor 1000, the car that was just everywhere in real life never made it into the most popular diecast ranges.

This was the British VW Beetle, the British 2CV, the British FIAT Topolino. Although wasn't it more classless than that? You were OK in a Morris 1000 even if you were a bit posh, after all the working class drove Fords if they drove at all.

So, here we have the transport of choice for vicars and district nurses throughout the land.

I'm not collecting this range - but it turned up in a mixed lot, has no value to sell, is nice and shiny, so I'm keeping it.
