Allis Chalmers Fork Lift Truck

Corgi Toys released the Allis Chalmers Fork Lift in June 1981. The original Mettoy release is yellow with Allis Chalmers graphics, it came with a driver and two pallets, there is also a promotional model in Allis Chalmers packaging coloured black and white.

For me the scale is all wrong, it appears to be about 1:32 scale while all the trucks are around 1:50 scale and the cars by now are mostly 1:36 scale. Van Cleemput mentions issues around scale in the Great Book of Corgi, saying that if they had made it true to scale for the other models it would have been too small to appeal to purchasers. It was made for Corgi Toys in Hong Kong.

According to the Great Book of Corgi it stayed in production for only one year, according to the Pocket Book it remained in production at the time of the bankruptcy in 1983. It returned in the post-Mettoy era. I have found one post Mettoy release in yellow and two in Eddie Stobart livery.
