This is the car driven in the
Sebring 12 Hour race in 1967 by Clive Baker and Rauno Aaltonen when they
finished 13th in the Prototype up to 2 litre class. It was then entered
for Le Mans where Clive Baker teamed up with Andrew Hedges, finishing
15th overall at an average speed of 100.8 mph. The following year, 1968,
it was entered again at Le Mans and driven by Roger Enever and Alec
Poole who finished 15th, at the slightly slower average speed of 94.8
mph. On both occasions it won the "Motor" trophy for the first British
car home, and at one spot it was timed at 154 mph! |
