Ford Thames Walls Ice Cream Van

Best known as an Anglia Van this is officially a Ford Thames 307E 5cwt. You can tell it's the 5cwt van because it has the central narrow radiator grille, the 7cwt had a full width radiator grille like the Super & Deluxe saloons. It is wrong to be chromed. on the 5cwt van they were painted body colour. This van should have an ice cream salesman figure and a boy customer figure.

The Walls Ice Cream Van was released first in March 1965 (No.447) and again in October of the same year, the second release (No.474) having a crank handle on the back and a musical box movement inside. The non-musical van was deleted in 1966 and the musical one continued up to 1968. Both vans are hard to find and sought after and both will go for very high prices indeed with not much to choose between them

After Atlas Editions success with reproduction Dinky Toys a range of reproduction Corgi Toys is now available from Corgi Model Club, the musical Ice Cream Van is in their offer, however I would check them out on Trust Pilot before you sign up.
