Ford Transit Wrecker

The 1:36 Scale Mk1 Ford Transit Wrecker was introduced in March 1981 and continued in a wide range of liveries well into the post-Mettoy era. It is a model of the facelift Mk1 Transit produced by Ford from 1977 to 1986. The same casting was used on a milk float and a tipper truck, which has so far eluded me and I have no examples to show.

The first release was in March 1981 (1140) in white with red detailing, the plastic jib on this one can be white or red.  It remained in production at the time of the 1983 bankruptcy. All other versions are post-Mettoy, these can be seen with different coloured plastic crane jibs.
