Porsche Carrera 6

The Porsche Carrera 6 is better known as the 906. Introduced in 1966 there were 50 of them built meeting the homologation requirements of the FIA's new Group 4 Sports Car category it was also street legal. It did well at Le Mans in 1966 taking 4th to 7th places behind the Ford GT 40s which were first, second & third. 330 Regular Wheels

The Corgi is a very nice model of a very smart sports car with lots of lovely detail, the engine and the interior are very well done. The car was introduced in 1967 and stayed in the range until 1969. It is red and white with a blue rear window or blue and white with a yellow rear window. The red & white car can have RN1 or RN60. The blue car gets the best price followed by the red car with RN60. Take a closer look at the scruffy blue and white car below. Look closely, there are two driver figures inside the car. Someone at Swansea must have decided the driver would be lonely in there all by himself and added a passenger. I've never seen this before and it is a real curiosity. I hope they get on together, they've been in there since 1967.

371 Whizzwheels

Here begin the re-releases of existing models converted to Whizzwheels. So far they have been new models or models converted before release, now we move into wholesale switchover to the new system, which accounts for the huge number of new releases and must have put a huge strain on the company at the time. I'm afraid this model is destroyed, the entire undercarriage is wiped out, the lights, mirrors, everything are bashed, broken or missing. I do however have some spares for it which might make it worth a rebuild. I should really look for a better one. The WhizzWheels version of the Porsche Carrera 6 was released in May 1970 and remained in the range until 1973, there are no listed variations and values are low.
