Porsche Targa 911 S |
|
The car being modelled here is the first generation Porsche 911, specifically the 1967 911S Targa, this car had a removable roof panel with a fixed roll bar and a 2 litre flat 6 air-cooled engine in the rear. The 'S' refers to the top of the range trim option. 509 Police Overall a nice little model, not sure about the boot-mounted siren though and they should have a blue beacon on the nearside behind the driver's door, both are frequently missing. There are two distinct versions of this car. The red, white and black car has German police markings, and is seen with or without door stickers which does not seem to affect value. The orange white and black car has Dutch police markings and is priced a lot higher than the German version. Production ran from 1970 to 1975. By searching on Google it is possible to find real-life versions of this model in both liveries. 382 Civilian Version This is a nice little model. It really captures the 911 from the early seventies, the colours are bright and jolly and it's a real fun package. The orange plastic is maybe a tad overdone - but it was 1971 remember - as I recall most of the world was bright orange plastic in 1971. This car was released in January 1971 and deleted in 1975. It is found in metallic blue with either a red or black interior and in metallic olive with an orange interior. They can be found with or without a gold stripe. The blue car with the red interior is marginally more highly priced but all are fairly modest.
