Corgi Toys 71; Tandem Disc Harrow |
|
A nice piece of 1960s period farm machinery. On the face of it a very simple model, but it really works. The raise-lower mechanism is typical of the good engineering at Corgi, miniature engineering rather than copying the real thing, it works so well. Then there is the construction. Farm implements in those days were often made by small engineering firms from welded angle iron - and that is what this appears to be. There is also a tool box on the main cross member, excellent detail. The No.71 Tandem Disc Harrow was introduced in July 1967 and remained in the range until 1972. It is not hard to find, nor is it particularly sought after meaning that prices are modest. This Corgi Toy was sourced in February 2021 from a private collection |
