Corgi Toys 283; OSI DAF City Car; Red, Black Roof

Officine Stampaggi Industriali (OSI) utilised the DAF Daffodil as a technical base for this concept for a small, space-efficient urban car. Because the Daffodilís wheelbase had been shortened by three inches the DAF OSI City was just 118.7 inches long, slightly longer than Fiatís 500 and a couple of inches shorter than the Mini.

It's a Mazak, with some of the crudeness of the other Mazak Corgis - however it must hold the record for the most opening bits on any die cast car ever. There's more open than car. I like this one - it's outrageous. I'm almost afraid to pick it up in case it crumples in my hand. What is holding it together?

Corgi Toys 283 OSI DAF City car was released in May 1971 and remained in the range until 1974, values on this one are increasing.

This Corgi Toy was sourced in April 2022 from a private collection
