Corgi Toys 386; Bertone Runabout Barchetta

The Autobianchi A112 Runabout, to give the car its full name, is a concept car developed by Bertone and first shown in 1969. Barchetta is Italian for little boat and is often used to describe small open cars. This small two-seat, mid-engined car was the inspiration for the Fiat X1/9 which appeared in 1972.

It's a Mazak, but actually a really nice model. The proportions are right and it's really a pretty little car.  The Bertone Runabout Barchetta was launched in March 1971 and remained in production to 1972, prices are very modest.

This Corgi Toy was sourced in March 2022 from a private collection
