Corgi 271; de Tomaso Mangusta

Moving towards the end of the real Corgis, this must be one of the last great models. It's an exotic car, that really looks exotic as a Corgi. The detail and modelling are superb and the novel feature this time is a detachable chassis, giving access to the nicely detailed engine. Dinky made the same car and chose to make the engine covers open - as usual at this time Corgi got it right and produced the sexier model.

The model was in the range for only one year in 1969, it is either blue & white or orange/red & white, both models seem to be similarly valued.

This is far from a perfect example - the aerial's broken off for one thing, but it's not too bad.
