Corgi Toys 240; Ghia-Fiat 600 Jolly; Blue, Red Seats

There's loads on the internet about the Ghia Fiat Jolly, apparently only a few hundred were made. FIAT shipped the completed cars to Ghia who made the conversion, doubling the price along the way, they were never cheap cars. The seats were replaced with wicker, much more pleasant for the suncreamed flesh than vinyl. The full size cars are now so rare and valuable there is an after-market trade in converting any remaining Fiat 600Ds into Jollys.

The First Ghia-Fiat Jolly was in the Corgi range for one year, 1963/4. It is metallic blue, light or dark or gloss blue. The sun canopy is red and silver and the seats are red. Look for the the light metallic blue, it gets the best price. It was re-released in 1965 without the canopy and in yellow with the number 242. All versions are rare though and you will have to pay to get one of these. It is a very rare Corgi and hardly ever appears for sale in any condition. I've seen completely wrecked examples go on eBay for silly money.

This Corgi Toy was sourced before January 2004 from eBay
