Corgi 302; Hillman Hunter London to Sydney Marathon Winner

This is a very ambitious model of the winner of the 1969 London to Sydney Marathon Rally, masses of detail and ingenious ways of delivering realism and play value - its just a shame the 'roo catcher' on the front is less effective. The spare wheels on the roof and the toolbox are really well done and authentic to the original rally car. I'm really pleased with this one - I've waited many months for one to come up at the right price and this is it!

The car has memories too - Rootes called this the 'Arrow' range of cars. in the early seventies my brother had the base model Hillman Minx - with rubber mats and plastic seats while my Pa had the top of the range Humber Sceptre auto, which thankfully he still had when I learnt to drive, a perfect car for pulling and pretty quick too.

This is a popular model and values are generally quite good. To get full value though you need it boxed (naturally) but the box should have the Kangaroo, a leaflet and a sheet of unattached transfers. The model was introduced in 1969 and remained in the range until 1972
