Matchbox/Lesney 63f; Merryweather Snorkel Fire Engine; Red, White Boom, Los Angeles City Fire Dept (Code Red)

Matchbox 1-75 Range

This is a rather dodgy re-use of the excellent AEC Merryweather Fire Engine from 1968 (35c), the top has been cut off and a Simon Snorkel cherry picker boom has been added. It was originally produced by Lesney right at the end of the brand in 1982 in red with a white boom.

The model remained in production under the new ownership and about 25 post-Lesney versions are known.

This Matchbox/Lesney was sourced in March 2013 from a private collection
