Matchbox/Lesney 49c; Chop Suey motorcycle; Metallic Red, Red Handlebars

One of a pair of Chopper motorcycles, the other being 'Jumbo Jet' (71d). It looks to me a like a reaction to Hot Wheels' output, rather than a new direction by Matchbox.

Chop Suey was released in 1973 and deleted in 1976. The bodywork is always this purpley red, the plastic forks ca be red, black, orange or silver vacuum plated, the plated version must be a pre-pro model as values are very high, for the rest of them, values are very modest..
