This is one I spent my pocket money on as a child, at the North Lonsdale Agricultural Show, probably in 1965 or 1966. I bought it together with the Pontiac GP, a fine pairing I thought, sadly both are long gone.
It was released in 1965 as a regular wheels toy. It was never converted to Superfast wheels but was replaced in 1970 by a new version of the VW Camper van which was Superfast from the start. There are two colour variations, pink & white or yellow & white. The prize is yellow with fine tread grey plastic wheels, this is quoted in Ramsey in four figures. The yellow with knobbly plastic wheels gets the lowest valuation. It can also be found with smooth tread and knobbly tread black plastic wheels. With these the box is key to value with E3 type boxes quoted as the best price.
