Matchbox/Lesney 54d; Personnel Carrier; Olive, Black Hubs

This military troop carrier fits with a small number of other fictional and semi-fictional military vehicles which fetched up in the Matchbox range in the mid seventies. There does not seem to be any great effort at realism or careful modelling.

The model came into the range in 1976 and remained in there until 1979, there are no listed variations in the finish, it is always military olive green. The only other variation is that some of the models have black centre wheels while some have the silvered wheels used on normal non-military Matchbox vehicles. Silvered wheels get a good premium while values for the black wheels versions are very low.
