The first Caterpillar Tractor, number 8a, was in the Lesney range from 1955 to 1958. The body is seen in shades of yellow & orange, the tracks can be grey or green and the rollers unpainted metal or yellow. The grille is sometimes painted silver, sometimes not.
This is a Matchbox belonging to Dan Addy. a visitor to the Museum who spotted that he had one of these and I never have. These are his pictures of his tractor which he kindly sent to me in 2020.
