According to the box: "The Thoma' K-670 was often referred to as "the
world's most perfect car", This particular model has been superbly
restored by Harrah's Automobile Collection, Reno, Nevada in the USA" The
Thomas K-670 was built by the E.R. Thomas Motor Company in Buffalo, NY
from 1903 to 1913. Some say a few were built later, but there are no
records past 1913. The car is powered by a 786 cubic-inch,
straight-eight cylinder engine developing 72.6 horsepower. It was a big
expensive car that was very fast. It sold for $6,000, which was a lot of
money in 1911
The MOY model was made between 1967 and 1975 and was produced for all
that time in only two colours, the first releases were metallic blue
which was changed to a purplish-red metallic during the run. Most of the
blue ones have dark red seats and a tan roof, the purple/red ones have white
seats and a black hood. You may see hoods swapped around. The very first
blue cars had yellow seats & grille and these are incredibly rare and
very valuable indeed. It is however relatively easy to fake the yellow
seats so be very careful. The car was made and sold in millions with few
variations so values are not great otherwise, blue ones just out-valuing
purple/red ones.
Boxes: The blue car can be found in Type E, F and G boxes, none have
been reported in Type E1 boxes. The red/purple car is always in a Type H
box. |
