Box notes: "In the 1930's this car was one of the most expensive
automobiles in America. Its classic body, custom built by Raymond
Dietrich was artfully blended onto a powerful straight 8 sidevalve
engine, making it capable of a top speed of over 80 mph."
This car had a good, long ten year production run from 1969 to 1987 . you will see it in lime-gold,
gold, beige, red/black and gold plated. the wheels are metal or plastic
wire spokes, hoods vary through maroon, brown and black with some white
and seats are black, brown, maroon or white. Variations are endless. You
will also see some casting variations the most notable being a cast
coach line which starts off thin and is made thicker on later releases.
Look out for lime-gold on a black chassis as the best price version.
however as with most Yesteryears of this period, retail values are
negligible.
Boxes: The first release in gold with a maroon hood were in type G boxes
with the last few in type H boxes, All the lime-gold cars should be in
type H boxes. The black/red cars are in type I boxes and the last
releases in cream/black are in type J boxes. |
