Matchbox 32e; Field Gun; Olive, Soldier Diorama, Black Superfast
I think this one is fairly unique in that it was sold with a little
diorama in the box. It has a plastic base to stand on which
represents the gun emplacement with a pair of soldiers and has some
shells on a sprue moulded into the same unit. The gun is of course
designed to be towed behind the military Jeep (38e) with which it was
sold in a twin pack in 1978.
The Field gun was added to the 1-75 range in 1977 and remained in it up
to 1981.It is in either military drab or olive green. The wheels are
usually plain black, but it is known with foil printing on the hubs. In
terms of the ones to look out for, you need to see the whole set for
there to be any value, i.e. the gun, the diorama and the box, even then
prices are low. If you have all that then you should look out for the
ones with silver hubs as they are hardest to find.
This Matchbox was sourced in February 2018 from Lacy Scott & Knight auctioneers, it was sold in March 2018 via eBay for £9.10 |
