Matchbox/Lesney 57b; Chevrolet Impala; Pale Blue Over Blue Metallic; Black Base, Black Wheels

As stated in many places on this site - the '59 Impala is one of my all time favourites, this favouritism is all based on die-casts I have to say as I've only ever seen about three of them in the 1:1 metal version. The Matchbox Impala does not in any way disappoint, very good work it is too. Number 57b the Chevrolet Impala was released in 1961 and deleted in 1966. They are always pale blue over metallic blue. The variations are in colour of baseplate, black, pale blue or dark blue, and wheel colour, grey, silver or black plastic, you will also find clear or green windows.

There are some to look out for. Black base, black wheel versions are among the most commonly found, along with dark blue bases combined with grey or silver wheels which are slightly more common. The ones to look out for are the clear windows/silver wheels combos and green windows with silver wheels on either shade of blue base.
