Not sure if I ever saw a Beach Buggy with a roof - it's almost a definition of them that they are open-topped. That aside this is a conventional beach buggy layout with a moulded GRP body and what appears to ne a VW flat four motor in the back. The Matchbox model was made from 1970 to 1976 and was always purple in lighter and darker shades, covered all over in yellow paint splatter. The yellow paint spots are randomly applied and are different on every model as a result. The random spots aside there is only one variation worth mentioning, the interior colour. Some have white seats and some have yellow seats.
Of the two versions the yellow seats are very commonly found, white seats are less often seen and consequently fetch higher prices. On playworn examples you will generally find that the headlamps have broken off as they are fragile and vulnerable.
