Matchbox/Lesney 52b; BRM F1 Racer

Matchbox 1-75 Range

The BRM Racing car, 52b, was released in 1965 in blue with yellow plastic regular wheel hubs and black plastic tyres. It remained in the range for 5 years being replaced in 1970 by the new Superfast wheels Dodge concept car. It is a model of the BRM P57 Formula One racing car as near as I can judge, from the early sixties and as driven my Graham Hill.

Examples of this are known with the racing number 3 sticker off the Lotus and these will fetch a premium as will dark blue, red or dark cherry red examples, the red cars are from a gift set. Mid-blue with racing number 5 is the most commonly found version. In terms of pecking order the most desirable is dark blue then dark red followed by red. Next comes blue with RN3 with blue and RN5 bringing up the rear.
