Matchbox 14c; Bedford Lomas Ambulance
In 1962 the 14c Bedford Lomas
Ambulance replaced the Daimler 14b, it remained in the range until 1968.
There are some rare versions to
look out for. The first ones had a red cross decal on the roof which had
guides moulded into the roof to locate the decal at the factory, first
the decal was deleted and later the guides went too. The one to look for
is white, has grey plastic knobbly wheels and the guides on the roof.
Generally white ones are harder to find than off-white. Among the
off-white ambulances grey and silver plastic wheels are harder to find
than black. The commonest version is off white with black wheels. |
