Matchbox 27b; Bedford Low Loader (95mm)

The 27b Bedford S Type Low Loader was released in 1958 and remained in the range until 1960. It replaced a visually identical model, 27a, which was a little smaller. 27b is 95mm long and 27a is 78mm long, both have green Bedford S Type (Big Bedford) cab units and a tan trailer.

Early releases have metal wheels, replaced by grey plastic wheels a little later in the run, the last ones produced had a darker green cab.

All of these are hard to find, plastic wheels more scarce than metal and darker green more scarce than light green. So - look for the darker green cab with plastic wheels.
