On the box it says Carmichael Rescue Vehicle, for us Land-Rover anoraks this is a Range Rover Carmichael Commando, Carmichael is a company that does specialist vehicle conversions and makes these 6x6 fire engines and the like. You often see them at Land-Rover gatherings bought after they have been retired from action by a very specialist kind of enthusiast.
They came right at the end of the Lesney period released in 1982 in white with Police graphics. The following year it was changed to red with Fire graphics. Neither is particularly highly valued in the books but because they were not made for long they are not that common either. Although they are not priced highly in the guides they have consistently sold well for me. They continued in production after the demise of Lesney under the new ownership and the post-Lesney releases have much lower value.
