Matchbox/Lesney 64e; Caterpillar D9 Bulldozer

Like Road Rollers, cement mixers and buses, Lesney always had a place for caterpillar tractors and bulldozers. This is a Cat D9 which was produced between 1979 and 1983 remaining in production after the 1983 bankruptcy.

You will find them with an array of colour variations in the plastic components, roof, blade, rollers and caterpillar tracks. None of these is particularly rare and none attracts a premium price. The Lesney made variations begin in 1979 with a yellow tractor with a brown plastic roof. In 1982 the cab was switched to black and a 'C' tampo was put on the cab. Some were also released in 82/83 with a black blade and on some of these the 'C' tampo was replaced with 'CAT'
