Matchbox/Lesney MB-68; 4x4 Chevy Van; 68E

Chevrolet's G Van from the Seventies, actually produced by GM right into the Nineties, provided a favourite subject for the toy car makers, Matchbox and Corgi (both large and small scale) used it very heavily. This Matchbox version was made from 1979 to the end of the Lesney period in 1983 and well beyond into the post Lesney era and is seen in a very wide variety of finishes.

Lesney period versions are either orange, white, green or yellow, some of them are promotional models and some are generic core range models. They mostly have tampos or labels applied, some just stripes, some promoting brands or events. Most versions do not attract much of a premium but the harder to find ones are the German issue in white with blue Adidas branding and an Australian issue in yellow with Matchbox branding.
