Matchbox/Lesney 71e; Dodge Cattle Truck (stake sides 4x2)

The Dodge 4x2 Cattle Truck 71e was released in 1976, not to be confused with the 37c Dodge Cattle Truck which has solid sides or 4d Dodge Stake Truck which was made from 1966 to 1972 and straddled the regular wheels / Superfast switchover. The Stake Truck 4d has three axles, 71e has only two, otherwise they are very similar.

The Dodge Cattle Truck was available in a wide range of paint colours and plastic back body colours. The green/yellow combo below was part of a larger gift set and had a matching trailer which I don't think was ever available as a separate unit. Ramsay has it as 71ex with red or yellow paintwork and off-white or yellow plastic. I have it in green with yellow plastic like the truck below.

There are no particularly rare versions to look for but a metallic dark green cab with dark brown plastic and amber or red windows is said to be harder to find.
