Matchbox/Lesney 48c; Dodge Fargo Dump Truck

This truck, a model of the UK produced Dodge Kew Fargo with a tipper back, spanned the introduction of Superfast wheels. The earlier regular wheels versions are all-over orangey red while the Superfast ones are blue and yellow.

The Dumper Truck, 48c, was introduced into the range in 1966 and was converted to Superfast in 1970. It was deleted in 1971. Production was very consistent throughout the run and there are no significant variations to look for, the only notable one being that some of the regular wheels versions have a baseplate which does not run full length, but this does not affect value. Superfast versions are harder to find than regular wheels and consequently cost a little more.
