Matchbox/Lesney 36d; Draguar

Matchbox 1-75 Range

Over stylised hot-rod based vaguely on the E-Type Jaguar with a strange bubble top and what makes it worse is that the big, oversized engine sticking out through the bonnet is a V8 - if its an E-type it should be a straight 6 - unless of course it is one of the late V12s.

The Draguar was released into the world in 1970 coloured metallic red and having 'Draguar' labels on the boot, but not in all cases, In 1973 it was re-coloured metallic pink and again some of these had the Draguar label. Other variations are to interior colour, white, off white, yellow and orange, last of all some of the pink ones have amber glass.

These are very commonly found models and do not attract much of a premium. The best prices are for the early red releases with the Draguar label and off-white, pale yellow or orange interiors.
