Matchbox/Lesney 57d; Eccles Trailer Caravan

The Trailer Caravan, 57d, was always a Superfast model, released in 1970 in cream with a maroon or brown side stripe, flower stickers on some, and an orange roof. The plastic roof clips off revealing a reasonably detailed green plastic interior. In 1972 the colour was changed to pale yellow and the caravan was deleted from the core range the following year.

However it did make several come-backs. In 1976-78 it was in a twin-pack and coloured yellow with a black stripe, from 1979-81 in light brown or beige with flower or bird stickers. The last release was in 1982 in white with a sunset/palm tree sticker.

None of them is particularly rare or demands much of a premium. Of all these the pale yellow 1972 release does get a very small premium.
