Matchbox/Lesney 39c; Ford 5000 Tractor

The Ford Tractor (39c) was released in 1967 and spanned the introduction of Superfast wheels without being converted. It was deleted in 1973. Early releases were blue with a yellow bonnet and later they were blue all over, I've shown two shades of blue below. They can also be seen in orange although these were from a set with a Ford transporter lorry and a hand held winch. There is a very rare blue/yellow version with a longer (7mm) exhaust stack which is probably a pre-production prototype. These aside the orange ones are worth a bit more, the all blue version is seen as slightly more desirable than the blue/yellow.

To me the proportions have always been wrong. The bonnet is too wide and heavy-looking and the wheels are too small, The Ford 500 was a big tractor, this looks like a ride-on lawn mower
