Matchbox 39b; Pontiac Convertible

The Ford Tractor (39c) was released in 1967 and spanned the introduction of Superfast wheels without being converted. It was deleted in 1973. Early releases were blue with a yellow bonnet and later they were blue all over. They can also be seen in orange although these were from a set with a Ford transporter lorry and a hand held winch. There is a very rare blue/yellow version with a longer (7mm) exhaust stack which is probably a pre-production prototype. These aside the orange ones are worth a bit more, the all blue version is seen as slightly more desirable than the blue/yellow.

To me the proportions have always been wrong. The bonnet is too wide and heavy-looking and the wheels are too small, The Ford 5000 was a big tractor, this looks like a ride-on lawn mower
