Matchbox 33a; Ford Zodiac
The Zodiac based on the Ford
Zodiac MkII was one of the 'three Graces' alongside the Consul and the
Zephyr. Big, luxurious Fords, giving the 'Never had it so good' post-war
British a taste of US motoring.
The Matchbox Zodiac saloon was
released in 1957. There are a lot of colours and variations to look out
for over its life in the range until it was replaced in 1963. Most of
them are in variations of blue, green and teal or in two-tone silver
over orange, some of these have windows, Wheels can be metal or plastic
in grey or silver.
Some variations are very hard
to find and worth serious cash. Look out for teal blue with metal
wheels, blue with any sort of wheels, or dark blue with metal wheels.
This is a model in demand and in short supply so most of the variations
will have a decent value. |
