Matchbox 34d; Formula 1 Racing Car

This is a generic Formula One racing car, introduced into the range in 1971, it was always on Superfast wheels. Through 1971-72 it was purple and recoloured Yellow in 1972 which remained its core colour until it was deleted in 1975. There were some gift set versions in orange and blue.

This is a very commonly found model which is mostly of low value and in my experience the playworn examples usually have badly bent axles. However there are some exceptions that are worth a bit. Look out for Wynn's promotional stickers and the blue or orange ones from the G4 set.
