Matchbox/Lesney 71b; Jeep Gladiator Pickup

In the Corgi pages of this website there are several references to Daktari - a 1960s TV series about a vet in the African bush. Corgi produced a number of Daktari models based around a fluorescent green Land Rover painted over with black zebra stripes. The TV programme never had a Land-Rover, it actually used one of these painted white with black zebra stripes.

The Matchbox Jeep Gladiator Pickup was firmly in the regular wheels era of Lesney models being produced from 1964 to 1969, always with black plastic wheels and always with orange bodywork. The only variation is the interior colour, white is the most commonly found, green is hard to find and attracts a small premium.
