Matchbox 2e; Jeep Hot Rod

This is a bright one is it not? It could only have come from the decade that taste forgot, the 1970s. It was released (or rather escaped) in 1971 and continued in production until 1976 when it was mercifully allowed to pass on. That engine is familiar - it turns up in a number of contemporary models including an inshore powerboat.

This Jeep (2e) comes in either dark or light pink, later releases are red. The interior is always white or cream but the base can be green or white. The harder to find variants are pink with a white base or red with a green base.
