Matchbox 28d; Mack Dump Truck
The largest of the Lincoln
Continental Mark Series, the Mark V shared the underpinnings of its
predecessor while wearing an all-new body that influenced Lincoln
styling for the next decade. Although 200 pounds lighter than the Mark
IV, it was stretched to the point of being only 3 inches shorter than
the 4-door Continental. The Mark V would go on to be the best-selling of
the Mark Series, averaging over 75,000 sales a year.
This Matchbox was added to the
range in 1979 in light red with a white roof and a tan interior. In that
year it was changed to dark red which colour it remained until it was
withdrawn in 1981, this later colour can be found with tan, grey or dark
brown seats. Dark red cars get a small premium over light red cars. |
