Matchbox 28d; Mack Dump Truck
One of many quarry trucks in
the die-cast pantheon, this time the Matchbox model of a Mack. It's a
very little model, but the Mack radiator badge is still readable if you
blow up the picture, this is very good modelling. You'll see it with red
or yellow plastic hub regular wheels in orange and in the Superfast
version it is usually a sort of metallic lime/pea green. That is if you
remember the peas you got in school dinners in the 1960s. There are also
some army green ones both gloss and matt.
The Dump Truck (28d) was released in 1968 in orange with regular wheels.
in 1970 it got Superfast wheels and the paintwork was changed to pale
green. The main production run stopped in 1973 but some military
coloured ones were released in twin-packs in 1977-1979. The ones to look
out for are the military green ones. |
