Matchbox 6e; Mercedes-Benz 350SL

The Mercedes SL was a stable part of the Matchbox range for many years, Mercedes cars change so little that it is easy for a die-cast maker to keep the same casting coming over and over again. This one started in 1974 with the orange version then yellow, next came silver followed by metallic bronze.

The last version was metallic red and it stayed in the range until 1982 when it was succeeded by the Mercedes convertible 6f - which is the same casting with the roof removed.
