Matchbox 1e; Mercedes-Benz Covered Truck

The Mercedes covered truck (1e) came out in 1968. It was released with black plastic regular wheels and painted jade green. It should have a plastic canopy which is usually orange on the early releases. It was designed to be paired with the matching trailer No.2.

In 1970 it was re-released with Superfast wheels. The Superfast version is seen in a range of colours, gold and military drab and also in pale blue or red. The gold version and the olive version with a tan canopy are both harder to find and worth a little more.
