Matchbox 11d; Mercedes-Benz Scaffold Truck

Matchbox toys are approaching the modern era here The toy has a plastic base plate, plastic grille and plastic bumper, it also has a cast number plate with foreign reg. It has a load of plastic scaffolding in the back which can be assembled to make a small tower, usually missing on unboxed examples.

It is also a transitional model; 11d the Mercedes Scaffolding Truck was released in 1969 with black plastic wheels. In 1970 it was converted to Superfast wheels and continued in the range until 1972.

With the exception of a very few pre-production yellow versions there are no rarities to look out for, they are all silver with the same stickers on the side.
