Matchbox/Lesney 46a; Morris Minor |
The Matchbox Morris Minor is not a model you find every day, it is quite scarce and all colours are quite highly priced. The early releases were tan and there is a story that most of these were stolen in a burglary at the factory accounting for their extreme scarcity and very high price. Next releases were dark green followed by blue/green and the last releases were blue. The model was removed from the range in 1960. The wheels are metal on the earlier releases and grey plastic on later cars.
The tan cars are really rare and values are among the highest valued Lesneys of all. The remaining colours are fairly highly priced, but more in the realms of sanity. The late blue release is harder to find as is the blue/green car with plastic wheels. The dark green cars and the blue green with metal wheels are the most commonly found.
