Matchbox/Lesney 68c; Porsche 910

Matchbox 1-75 Range
This is a transitional model that was first a regular wheels Lesney, converted to Superfast and lives on in the post Lesney era

Well modelled version of this very successful racing car. You will see it mostly in dark metallic rusty red. There are some white ones from a 'Broom Stick' issue, Broom Stick was a spring-loaded firing device to send the car off at speed. There are also some pre-production trials in silver - but mostly they are rusty red. Usually they have racing number 68c on the bonnet, sometimes on the doors too. They are also reported with 45 or 137.

The Porsche 910 was released in 1970 as a Superfast model from the off. It replaced the Mercedes Coach at No.68 with no transitional model between regular and Superfast wheels. Most of them are rusty red with a '68' label on the bonnet. The price starts to go up when the number differs from 68 or appears on the doors as well as the bonnet, white ones are worth more and the pre-pro silver ones are the most sought after.
