You know it is a Renault 17 because it is printed on the box and stamped on the base of the car, you would never know what it was otherwise. This is just a piece of bad modelling, not one for Lesney to be proud of at all. No.62e Renault 17TL was put in the Lesney range in 1974 and remained in production up to 1978. It was either red or orangey red with a racing stripe and racing number 9, the stripe was occasionally inverted and you got racing number 6, these are not that commonly found. There was a short run of a Fire Chief version in 1976 found in G12 Rescue set.
The red or red/orange version with RN9 is the usually found one, RN6 gets a very small premium and the Fire version is worth rather more.
