Matchbox 37c; Dodge Cattle Truck
Officially known as Skip Truck
- I added the 'Atlas' because it shares a cab with the Atlas tipper
(23f) and it helps identify the thing. At the risk of being boring I
mention again that Matchbox in the seventies seemed incapable of making
any vehicle that was recognisable on the roads anywhere, and this is an
example.
The 37e Skip Truck was
introduced into the range in 1976 and was produced right through to
1982. The first releases were red and the red trucks remained in the
range through to 1981. They are found with yellow or blue skips ,
plated, grey or orange seats and black or brown bases. Of this bunch
look for yellow skip, plated seats, yellow windows & black base - but
don't get too excited, £15 mint & boxed is the best you'll get.
In 1977 there were some orange
releases and they are hard to find and worth finding too. The last
release in 1981/2 is metallic blue and of low value. So look out for
orange. |
