Matchbox 8f; Ford Mustang Wildcat
This car replaced the by now
aging 65 Mustang in the range in 1971, designated 8f. Lesney gave us a
big V8 sticking out of the bonnet and some whacky colours turning it
into a dragster. Through its whole production life it was available in
orange, for the first year of production only, 1971, it was also
available in pink. Seats are consistently yellow and the windows always
green, but there are a lot of variations of base colour and to the
stickers applied to the doors. Mostly the stickers show the profile of a
big cat with 'wildcat' overprinted, however they can have Rat Rod labels
as seen on the Mercury Cougar dragster or sailboat labels as seen on the
VW camper.
Most versions are pretty well
priced, the best being the ones with sailboat labels, lowest value is
orange with wildcat labels and a black base. |
