Year of Release: N/K

In the book Bond is taken to the car pool at MI6 and offered a choice between an Aston Martin and a Jaguar 3.4. He chose the Aston  because it was up to date, fast and had certain extras namely: switches to alter the colour and type of front and rear lights, reinforced steel bumpers, a Colt .45 pistol in a trick compartment under the seat and concealed stowage compartments. I also got the impression he thought the Jag was a bit common. The Mk1 Jag came as a 2.8 or a 3.4 litre. They both had rear wheel spats, but as the 3.4 had wire wheels with knock-on centre spinners its wheel spats were partially cut away to avoid fouling on the spinners. The 3.4 also has a larger grille.
