More good quality modelling from Dinky in the sixties. This is the Austin 1800 Land Crab. The civilian version was No.171, the taxi was 282. Not a bad model of a car which was very popular and common in its day, it was just so huge inside.
Nice features of the Dinky include jewelled lights and opening boot and bonnet. It suffers from the usual Dinky problems of the time of poor mask spraying of the silver trim and the track being too narrow, otherwise a very good effort.
The Dinky Austin 1800 Taxi was released in 1965 and remained in the range until 1967, the civilian model was made from 1965 to 1968 in either metallic blue or light blue.
